I'm in need of a break moving from autumn calving to spring should do it. Being in the planning stage for few years this year seems to be the year to make the move.
Cows are bulling strong should i push them harder with protein this winter, to get higher peak for a long lactation or keep on a healthy, fertility conscious diet. Cows normally peak now at 2.1kg ms and will still be doing 2kg ms come mid may.

Could prob run them over to WSM.
But Ive grown quite fond of my highly inefficient suckler cows. Hear its all the rage to cross kiwi cross spring cows with monty. So mine could be bang in fashion two years time.

You evidently have a very understanding buyer.

Why would that punish their feet ?
A bunch of autumn cows all winter bulling on concrete! We're glad to have started serving, if we don't stop them bulling there heats will just get stronger and longer as the winter goes on. Bulling every 24 days for upto 3 days at a time. So maybe 18 days throughout the winter pivoting on her back legs.
Everyone's cows are different, but we would literally pull the feet of our cows by Xmas if we didn't stop them. Lifted 1 cow on each farm today, both served 2 days ago.
