Time to bring the bulls in. The Devon had different ideas and ran in the drinking hole. Didn't even think twice about following him in.....no one told me the 4wd had stopped working.

Our first year growing forage rape. Not a good year for it.Very dry late summer and fall. Measures at 3ton DM/ acre at 65-70 days. Better luck next year.

looks good, get some rain, the tallest of ours got to 6ft ! Biggest problem we find, is weed control, fat hen is the main one, and that can get to 7ft, The dry summer here, meant you could see exactly where the spray worked, or didn't, There is quite a bit of regrowth, coming on behind the cattle, whether it will survive the winter, or not, remains to be seen, but in other years, have been able to keep some 'odds' on it, before working it.

Got 15 plain cows on oad still out though but that doesn't really count

with tracks, the 50 spr calvers, day 254, still out to kale, poorer/older ones in. Without tracks, they would have been in.
You don't fully appreciate the value of the tracks, till you start using them. 40 i/c heifers' out on kale, they look really good as well.

Housed on the 21st September 2012 here and that was the catalyst for some major improvements in both tracks and grassland management and once we started we’ve not looked back in all honesty. Anything that shortens your winter is money well spent in my opinion.

learn't a bit of cornish this week, chap we know moving down there, told it was a 7 /5 farm, 7 months in, 5 months out, think he's hoping it's the other way round !
Plenty of farms down here are 12in 0 out. All comes down to attitude
