Where has your local
Water gone ? Seems your just getting the rain run off and not not going down. The stuff has fallen out of the sky plenty this yr/spring.
we have missed any rain in the last 3 summers, our hills are like a promontory, rain goes either side of us, never used to.
l would have thought we had had enough winter rain to 'recharge' groundwater reserves, certainly plenty of springs were running, now they have stopped, the streams pretty well dried up, we are close to where it starts, but to see how little is running after a couple of dry weeks, in march, is scary. I have lived here all my life, and other than 75/76, never seen it so dry, 6/8 weeks ago, this farm was water logged, we had to repair some drains, to dry up a wet patch, now bone dry. We have a spring which feeds a reservoir, with 200 cows, that used to keep us 'going' till aug/sept, we put in a bore hole, spr so unreliable. I think you summed it up, local water gone, love to know where, and would love it to come back ! So farming for another dry summer, and hoping I've got it wrong.

What causes a calf to be born cloudy in both eyes, like this on born today?
we've had a BB hfr born with a bulging milky eye, vet was here testing, so had a look, got slightly worried when she started on about removing the eye ball, got a bit better when she said about sewing the eyelids together to keep it 'in', then full agreement, when she thought it might right itself, and wasn't causing any discomfort. Might have been caused calving ?
