I struggle to take paddocks down like most people on here, did a bit of research on it a while ago and put it down to high mag soils not making the grass that palatable
We have the same problem 4 & 5 Mg indexes ,so used gypsum to improve which then released potassium that the Mg had locked away:banghead::banghead:.Clamp silo nearly 3% Potassium so disaster for dry cows
 
We always use CAN based fert with salt in it but always think that tiny bit of salt cant achieve to much, I get on a lot better when it's dry for hitting residual

Flys appeared in numbers today. So did the milkers with this as they came out this evening

now heading home for a beer as it is supposed to be my weekend off, but both my relief milkers seem to have vanished now it’s summer 🙄

Don't want to use it as I like the beetles in the dung pats, but I think we will give in this wk
