I think whoever has this geronimo could cause themself more problems as it wouldnt take a lot for the rest of the herd to catch it too
That thing won’t have it camelids tend to die fairly quickly from it been going on a few years now
is it a positive publicity re TB, bringing it into the public domain ?
thinking of a new herd registration prefix 'geromino' !
the min have no choice but to take it, otherwise the floodgates would open, a complete nightmare, l do find it strange that the min haven't tested the rest of the flock, because, as she bought it, presumably at a high cost from NZ, for breeding, one could, perhaps, conclude that it might have strayed, out to the females.
The real bombshell will occur, when, not if, the min slaughter it, that it doesn't have TB, a nightmare scenario for the min vets.
Our new 6 month test, next week, store cattle pre-movement tested, and gone, as well as the few calves we had about, just in case. Years ago, it was just a pain in the butt, now, its a nightmare, we have no idea, whether we pass/fail, got to gear up ready for the worst, 90 cows start calving oct, can we sell the calves, or do we keep them, no idea, plan for the worst, and hope for the best.

rep in this morning, telling us, he had just sold an artic load, 29 ton, of organic soya, at £1,000/ton, and very little profit. If true, which it probably is, organic dairy farmers, seriously need a premium, on the milk.

Can’t be that bad for you, my grandad has a pint of fresh, ‘raw’ milking every night and he’s 86. Has done all his life and hasn’t done him any harm. Dreadful stuff this fresh milk..... not!!
Typical stance of BBC though.

One case of food poisoning per year is enough for someone to say milk is "not safe"? How many cases of food poisoning are there per year due to poor hygiene in kitchens? Yet no one says home cooking should be banned.

Another case of "Let's kick the farmers 'cos they won't kick back."
