That's what I'll do in future, just I've always been taught that if you open something you close it, if you break something you fix it, if Unplug something you plug it back in, if you turn something off you turn it back on, if you make a mess you clean it up etc
That maybe true but I wouldn't ever expect a contractor to leave his seat for something that could have been done before they arrived. They should be able to get in the cab when they get to their yard and out again when they get home anything else is you making their lives difficult.

Maybe so but on the flip side, them not doing that is them making my life difficult 🤷‍♂️

But yes i now know for future and didn't want to say anything if that's just normal practice, and going forward I will go around in front of them first, I have never had anyone do that for me when I've been doing contracting and have always closed the gates etc so just didn't realise

Had a trial there early mid 80 s but football was a weekend hobby rather a career , much to the dismay of my PE teacher at school who says I could have played at the very top level
Lot of my mates went for trials at Crewe Alex and some became Barries "boys" terribly sad whats come out since, just glad I was shite at football.
But I've seen the Alex ascend to the championship and had some great memories over the years

I had a great time when I was up at Gresty Road and its such an odd ground! Making a right racket in the Ice Cream stand looking at that ridicuously massive Main Stand which is bigger than anything at Home Park!

Sorry another one of my stupid questions, for those who use contractors is it normal to have to go around wherever they have been working and close all the gates and put electric fences back up etc once they have finished?
It's hardly the end of the world but is slightly annoying
Typically I’d replace about 12 post each year and around a dozen or more broken high tensile wires. Sometimes I get told about them other times I have to find them myself.

Someone doing work for you is a guest on your place. Do everything you can to make their life easy and you will get remembered. But make your expectations known and stick to them.

yup. Would always want to make sure anyway so doesn't really make a lot of difference.

To any autumn block calvers who calve outside on standing hay when do you shut the field up to let the hay come on?

How do you prevent milk fever?

Thanks
