To be fair, my heifer from woodmarsh has kept up fine with my frieisans! You'll have to build a cow palace first, she won't last long in the field with the rest of them.

As a buller/incalf or she milking? To be fair, my heifer from woodmarsh has kept up fine with my frieisans!
Only got the one milking, she's doing well but likes cake A LOT and is very naughty because of itAs a buller/incalf or she milking?
Nothing wrong with either of them, if they do what you want and make you smile when you see them that's all that matteraI think I'd rather a field of these, she's as round as she is tall and never any bother View attachment 1042411
What's her breeding? Looks like an Ayrshire but somethings telling me that she's actually of Scandinavian descent?!Nothing at all, I have a soft spot for pretty cows too but they take a lot more looking after.
This one always makes me smile.
1 hour 30 minutes later I have finally managed to get this little sh*t in the shed
Speed of light in the field and then shoved the brakes on as soon as I managed to grab the little bugger
Feel like I've ran a marathon
I can assure you it's just as much of a task bringing in the friesian calves!Thought limousins were soooo quiet
Good job i don't use them as wellI can assure you it's just as much of a task bringing in the friesian calves!

I can’t even comprehend how many miles we used to walk when calving trying to fetch calves in carrying them on our shoulders etc.
Knew it was my breedingFriesians follow their mothers as good as gold you must be using the wrong ones
The problem is its a 4 day old calf that's never had human contact and now has some strange man running after it, the breed is irrelevant!well, what do you expect ? limmy cross.
took us 6/7 weeks to final catch a limmy nut case, that killed her calf, and decided to revert to feral, and she was seriously good at it, couldn't get anywhere near her. Solved it in the end though, friend shot her, with a .347, at 400 m, and reckoned there was no way, to get closer, that shot was taken, over a river, and through a gap in two hedges, and she knew he was there, shot as she started to run. Hung her up, and into the freezer, she had the last laugh, been eating OSR, and tainted the meat, we had to curry the lot. She cost me £310, and at the time, l was pissy about losing it, on reflection, hand great fun regaling the story, so probably got my moneys worth.
But, it highlighted one thing, we don't appreciate, all our stock are basically wild animals, we have domesticated, but they can revert back to feral, very quickly, those instincts are still there.
perhaps ought to start a mad limmy thread.
Did the photo look like thisThe problem is its a 4 day old calf that's never had human contact and now has some strange man running after it, the breed is irrelevant!
50% + of dad's sucklers come from limo x friesians, they're quiet as mice! I've got photos of me sat on the back of my pure limo, as they calved in I used to milk them and check their quarters were OK, and didn't calve in with mastitis etc
I've certainly never had to shoot a mad one!
