Anyone else still waiting for parlour to thaw 🫣🫣 still says -5 here, I drained it right out yesterday but some ice always builds. Was -8 when I got up, one of those days

When I priced some earlier in the year. The difference in prices was massive. Ranged from £6k to over £10kHas anyone out slurry channels in lately? I’m waiting for prices from a couple of companies but slow to come.. either price of a section or price per ft laid would be useful..
Try stuff! If it doesn’t work never do it again! Take what’s said here with a pinch of salt
Keep things simple, sounds like your nutritionist has your head frazzled.
Poping a bale out to the heifers on the hill before milking tonight.

Get some sand or salt on there. This has been my yard for the past few days, not sure if you can tell from the photo but that is just a sheet of pure solid ice, watching special cows go skating is not my idea of fun!

That's the plan, I've ordered some salt for next time, typically looks like it's getting warmer day after tomorrow.Get some sand or salt on there.
Do they make their own way in; unattended?
You can throw just about anything on it and it will help a little. Wood ash, grain, mineral, dry soil from a building. Even soybean meal! That's the plan, I've ordered some salt for next time, typically looks like it's getting warmer day after tomorrow.
When I'm complaining next summer about lack of rain, remind me we only get minus temps for a few weeks each winter as opposed to everyone else up north (devon)
