Allotments or Market Garden

Im exploring diversification options for a small grass field on the edge of our arable acres on an "off" farm.
its a 3 acre "Garth" permanent pasture field near the old ( sold off) farm steading , so doesn't fit for animals as we are all arable and its away from home
I'm looking at Allotments or a Market Garden. Has anyone any experience of letting private allotments off ? There are Council allotments over the fence already so I doubt there'd be planning objection , and there appears to be a waiting list for said allotments so demand is there.
The only down side I see it the mess and "crap" that allotments seem to bring.... Tatty old sheds and plastic bags and string and bonfires .....

The field is part of the green space jammed between two large towns so have instant access to a large population, excellent road links to A66 and A19. And almost on the banks of the River Tees
As far as other diversification options go,
I don't want to entertain "the public" as I'm cantankerous and not Public-friendly !!!! So despite it being on the Cleveland Way with hundreds of people walking round its edge every day looking for something to spend money on..... A Petting Farm, Quad Bikes, camp site, glamping, etc are out of the question for me as I couldn't cope with The Public.
And as a last resort it could be a horse paddock, but I want something more than that ....
Any ideas??
Thanks in advance
