Had genus man round yesterday trying to sell breeder tag system which looks pretty good to be fair, he then got on to linking it to alpro for the parlour through uniform agri software, then got on to if they install rfid chips in the pedometers and installed readers in back of parlour it should be able to double up as auto id for milking , has anyone got any experience of this? Said its been done with another parlour manufacturer but can't remember which one
Cheers

There are a guys using it and linking it in to crystal, uniform and other computer programmes and parlours it saves a lot of double entry and doubling of costs

There are other options you could also explore. You could get delaval auto id installed, add uniform and then have any heat detection system you like, with or without rumination. There may be large differences in cost, but worth looking at a couple of systems.

Should have mentioned we are on a sainsbury's contract that will require is to purchase Angus semen off genus so that system comes up on top of the list for that reason mainly, genus man has since clarified that their chips will work with the delaval readers not their reader with alpro, does anyone use uniform? How does it compare to other software, we are in the dark ages with all this stuff despite having alpro for 8 years, it is admittedly not used to its full potential [emoji106]

Apologies, not trying to tell you what to do, but i wouldnt buy a heat detection system from a company, just because you have to buy their semen. It should be what you think works best for your system.
We have eid button tags on all cows (about £1.50-£2/tag) works with delaval multireader and delpro (newer version of alpro). We use sensetime activity collars with rumination and uniform links the two. It works well for us.
Uniform is a great tool, as others on here have stated before. But like anything the more you put in the more you get out. If you watch the tutorials on YouTube, you can see the potential benefits of the software.

Just be aware Alpro is no longer supported be DELAVAL, Delpro is the system now, as I recently found out to my cost.

What retention rates are they quoting? Know someone who switched to tags (think is was scr) but soon switched back to collars.
