Getting on ok with footbathing one milking per week with cuso4 so I find it cost effective. Have used zinc sulphate for the sheep before, my understanding is stock need to stand in it for 2-3 mins for it to be effective, perhaps more suitable for use strengthening hooves rather than just killing bacteria

Kilco sell a product called farmalin would be worth looking at. It's a formaldehyde free product designed to replacement it. They have an intense and maintenance formulations. I have had a customer try the intense this time. He seems pleased with the results but it wasn't the cheapest option.

Why is formalin banned for organic foot treatment?

Couldn't you just get an invoice for some copper sulphate to satisfy the paperwork inspection?

Too fudgin dear if you follow their recommended plan.

I’ve used hoof sure, formalin, copper sulfate and even tried putting a bag of lime in.
Best results I’ve had is putting a bag of lime in and then adding a bag of copper sulfate at about a 50:50 mix, after about 2 goes I had vertically no DD.
Vets don’t like copper sulfate for the reason that it doesn’t break down when mixed with organic matter e.g. slurry, as well as the build on the land

Anyone add anything to copper sulphate? Heard of someone nearby adding salt and fairy liquid

I do a salt and fairy liquid foot bath on the first day followed by two days of fairy liquid and chemical. Helps it to stick better. (Maybe it's a myth but do it anyhow)
