Alternative use for just below (fibre) spec linseed straw?

Moving out our linseed straw for processing at the moment. Am going to have a few tonnes that is not the perfect grade that is required for the fibre job, i.e. it has a weathered + slightly damaged end wedge, or a dirty base from the bottom of the heap. Anyone suggest an alternative use; would it have bedding qualities, can't think whether the fibre would spread ok after a year in a cattle shed / muck heap for example. Shame to waste these bales which are otherwise ~15% moisture. Thanks

This is what a friend of mine does with his linseed straw, builds cattle pens out of it. This particular pen was four years old when the picture was taken and would probably last one more, he would have up to 20 bulls at any one time in it.
