Alternative use of tractors

All these tractors are at the boat ramp in Kaikoura and are only used for launching boats now, its a very impressive collection of classic tractors with some very desirable tractors there some seem to be better looked after than others and the sea air certainly dosn't do anything for them.

A highly desirable JD 4640 but getting very rough.

I don,t know how much this boat weighs but it is massive and i am glad i don't have to back it down the ramp.

Ford 8210 probably the tidiest tractor there

Massey 1200/1250 seem popular boat launchers as there are 3 or 4 here its the only place in New Zealand i have actually seen any.

Bit of quality here.

I always thought the whale watch JD was in mint condition.

I guess if the repair bill on some of those tractors was going to be over a grand or so they'd just find another tractor.

I know a tad cruel,but 1200's have the finest engine ever made they wont take any harm.

They are nice engines but didn't the MF 2600 range had a similar engine fitted and some of those were absolute pigs to start when it was cold good when they were going but hard work to get going. The 1250's also turbo very well .

The 6.354s biggest fault was bad starting,had a 248 that was as bad.

i have 2 6354 engines n they start fine, also a now non runner 6 354.4, newer n nent to be better but noisey thirsty n very poor starter
