Anybody hear Mr B on Radio 4 this morning?

Euston Estate energy costs originally budgeted at £80k, but actual nearer £300k while irrigating the veg since April. Went on to say veg cropping may be dropped if prices don't improve on the annual supply contract next year.
Fertiliser up three fold too, cereal yields under pressure as well.
No mention of crop assurance though!

He was on BBC 6 o'clock news couple of days ago in a piece on the impending heatwave moaning about the potential for reduced wheat yields (ie talking the price up ...)

Difficult to feel sorry for someone who claims its not all about yield but cant water his sugar beet on sandy soil over a massive chalk water sponge? Finally i see why TFF members might create posts like this....
