This forum is in the main full of good advice on a huge diverse range of subjects, We are very fortunate that it exists in its current form.
I know many may say, that we already have too many different forum on here, but I am wondering if there is room for one more.

Just occasionally a subject can come up, where somebody may like to post, in a totally anonymous fashion. Although most of us post under pseudonyms, I suspect the majority are well known to many members, especially their neighbours, family etc. I appreciate that no body can be totally anonymous, as I know that their are re people out there who can track posts back to the original computer, phone etc.
I believe such a forum should be moderated by a discrete individual who has the time to remove anything which goes against decency and libel, I am certainly not asking for a super oooh! or an extreme politics thread, there are plenty of those in off topic already!
I expect it is not that difficult to fool the system and enlist as a new member to post some comment, with a new computer, email address etc. however I suspect that most would sooner to continue to post on certain , serious, possibly personal, financial, legal or domestic issue, without attracting the attention of their bank, police, family, or just ribald local banter. Bearing in mind what I have said, that it can never be completely secure, but just a forum where the posters names are not public.

Anonymous postings or not: the law is levelled against forum providers/owners when it comes to anything that could be illegal, so having the ability to post anonymously does not change anything in that regard- content like that is just removed from forums routinely these days.

I would warn against people posting sensitive information of any of the kinds you describe. Wily forum-goers can often infer a great deal about a person from the manner in which they post, their prose and use of the English language meaning posting anonymously is not always the safety net many assume.

If you needed advice on an issue of a sensitive nature I guess the obvious suggestion is a very very close friend but appreciate this may not be an option for all.

We have in the past had members ask to create another login so they can ask a sensitive question. We have always helped this.

However I would generally agree, people have to be responsible for what they say.
