I love it! it's got curves and is basic, a straight 6 engine and (I think) a 3 speed gearbox.
This is what it should look like (robbed these next ones off the web)
One day I'd love to drag it out of the weeds and fix it up.
I have been thinking of selling up here and shifting out (if I'd be allowed in that is) if I don't I think I could stick it in a container and bring it back...
In the mean time though... I'm going to try my hand at some more complex sheet metal forming.
So...
For the running gear and power I'm sorted, a classic Range Rover chassis and running gear and a 3.5 rover V8 with an auto box. (Pictures of this tomorrow)
I have the English Wheel out in the shed, built it a few years ago and fairly happy with the way it works (pictures tomorrow too)
I've the plans started on the computer for a metal worker (along the lines of a Pullmax) which will be used for shrinking the sheet to form the curved corners.
Got a bead roller that I've a few alterations to do to it and then I'll be happy with it (pictures tomorrow too)
The sand bag and a small shrinker arrived a few weeks ago, got a few hammers from grand father years ago.
The plasma's been sorted, the tig welder needs looking at (could just be the torch)
The pressbrake needs fixing so I can fold the rear tub (need to get my arse into gear with that project)
Now then... Some help from you all is required...
The windscreen.. I WAS thinking of a VW camper van, the bay window ones, but not sure it would work as it may curve round too much at the sides.. I did see an old Bedford passing the other day, but couldn't get a proper good look.. Possibly a VW Beetle?
Aluminium or steel for the panels?
Wire frame or mdf? (I've loads of sterling board) for making the buck
Should I start this project or possibly take up darts or snooker
