ANPR Farm track.

Has anyone set up an ANPR system to monitor a farm track. Our village seems to be targeted at the moment and with only 4 roads into the village it looks ideal for an ANPR system. I then thought why limit to the village when my single track farm road needs protecting would an ANPR be a solution. Have given up with a locked gate as to inconvenient and key codes never last due to vandals. Could even install rising bollards if it could be linked somehow to the ANPR.

Got relatives who are having problems with stuff going missing, they live in a no through road glen, ideal for ANPR you would think. As everyone knows what's going on and look out for each other they have even identified the culprits vehicle and notified plod, no action has ever taken place, with various lame excuses. They have suggested an anpr type camera at the end of the road so that when the vehicle enters the glen it could trigger a warning to plod who could then catch them red handed on their way out, but they are just not interested!!!!!!

Raising spiked bollards as the vehicle passes sounds like the job.

This is similar to my thoughts. I have a section of single track road with a 25 mtr drop where a single raising bollard could block the road. Have seen bollards which incorporate an ANPR camera that allow traffic in depending on reg number. Wonder what the legal consequence is of allowing vehicle in but not allowing it out.

These look really interesting, and not exorbitant outlay for what they do; a neat solution, all the ANPR software and database is embedded in the camera. Have you set it up and what's performance like? Does it read plates well at night/full darkness? Is the web administration of plates etc straightforward to do?

Had a quick google of these Dahua cameras for ANPR/LPR and it appears there’s two classes of variants, basically either narrow angle of view, long range capture (up to 40 metres) or narrow to wide FoV with motorised lens control:

No lense, looks like the 1st generation, quite a bit larger physically than models below:
ITC237-PU1A-IRHL

Long Range (up to 40 metres capture distance, but narrow angle of view up to 50 degrees horizontal):
ITC237-PU1B-IR

Short Range (3 to 8 metres capture distance, but wide angle of view from 36 to 101 degrees horizontal):
ITC237-PW1A-IRZ
ITC237-PW1B-IRZ

Not sure if all these are available in the UK either. Did you specifically choose one model over the other or what was available?

I let the sparky doing the fitting choose it.he likes researching things before buying. He was impressed with it and was going to buy one himself
