Any thoughts about winter linseed? Heavyish land

Trying 20ha of linseed this time to replace some rape, going in to heavy land with lower black grass pressure. Want one less thing to think about while we try something new

I didn't yield. Grown spring twice and did more than 1t/acre. Grew the winter stuff and it did 0.8t/acre. Seed was a huge cost also. It looked good and combined well in July but didn't produce. It was on grade 2 warp with some heavier and some lighter patches on the field.

My poorest rape is zero yield with negative margin
Doing the same and expecting a different outcome is a sign of......
I wouldn't call poor zero yield I would call it a lost crop. Anything would obviously be better than that, that's not to say winter linseed if some saviour because for us it wasn't. It wasn't negative margin but it came awfully close and left more blackgrass.
