Anybody from the RZ sold sheep or cattle in a dedicated bluetongue red market in the 'clean' zone?

Now the new system is up and running, has anybody on here used it?

How did you get on?

I guess they must have to declare which are from the RZ?

In view of the fact that only certain buyers, who are buying for certain abattoirs, are allowed to buy stock from the RZ, the cynic in me can't help thinking that it'll be a nice excuse to screw the price down a bit

We've not sold anything fat since all this malarky kicked off but I might try a few next week.

Went to Selby this week for a look and decide what to do. All lambs from the zone were marked. There were 3 or 4 buyers for them. Prices were no different for lambs from the zone or not and I think most of the top prices were lambs from in it.

It might not have been too bad a thing having to hold them over a bit - bigger lambs seem in a bit more demand recently
