I was there but not for long, I thought the prices were nothing to write home about in the Char ring, and in fact they would have sold better at the previous ram sale at Exeter I would have thought. Ringside was quite with not many people there, filled out a bit more when the Texels started but I had to leave.

Heared suffolk trade was a bit hit and miss though some one I know sold to £1400 I think.

Quality was all over the place with some poor rams.

I hate to think how may 100's of tonnes had been poured into the fed rams though, some scary beasts there...

a lot of char breeders around devon for sale private and your normal ram sales at mart , not a lot of reason for a lot of buyers to go to nsa and get burnt by overfed stock ,
surprised at quality of some stock usually DD is pretty hard with inspections .
Early in season i thought about a return to the sale , but have the zwartbles sale friday didnt want to go twice in a week

There was one weird composite I saw in the pen that I could not work out, looked like a leggy blue texal.

Saw it in the ring announced as 3/4 tex 1/4 swart.....made about £220 I think. It was a fair ram but just seemed an odd mix at such a sale.

Some of the Suff Tex and Char Tex comps sold well and the deamd is growing for those I think, expecially the char tex.
