breath taking... no pun intended. Last weekend when we went for a swim at the beach, the trees were full of swallows. I have never seen anything like it. Thousands of them. Next day they were gone.... Nature is truly amazing
 
I just noticed our swallows have gone too, I really miss them now, never saw they congregating on the wires like they normally do. Perhaps they got fed up waiting for Brexit and just left.
Yes , ours too. And no, I never saw ours mobbing up on the wires outside the building either . Sad about that , but something to look forward to next year -- along with the daffodils and snowdrops .

Yes, but your southern swallows are the whimps. I noticed ours yesterday, skimming low to the ground. A sure sign of more bad weather. :D

On the other hand, I had dozens of sparrows here earlier but fewer swallows nesting than usual. Then the sparrows disappeared. More pied wagtails though.
