New Holland now offer a second 6 cylinder in the current T6, tier 4b range, this being a T6.160 at 135hp un boasted. This is only offered in the Electro Command transmission.

We've got a t6.175 and are very happy with it so the tractors overall, cab etc are all good. Not directly helpful I know as its a 4 cylinder not a 6 but when we bought it a year ago they didn't offer the 180 with the dynamic command gearbox. dad was absolutely adamant he wanted a 6 cylinder but in the end settled with a 4 because the gearbox was more important and he's a convert, it is brilliant on fuel and pulls like hell. Regardless of engine I would say definitely get the dynamic command gearbox, it is light years ahead of that horrible screaming electo command

I forgot to add, I also wanted a 6 cylinder initially and thought it was essential for heavy cultivation’s but have been proven wrong. Don’t forget the 4 cylinders have a spacer so the tractor overall is the same length as the 6 cylinders

I'm not really machinery minded more livestock but already having 2 6cylinder maxxum 125 i thought going back to 4 cylinder would be a backward step but apparently not

I have tried both a maxxum 115 and a T6.145 this week, both specced with ElectroCommand/Activedrive4 and neither of them whines like the older ones did

We changed our t6. 140 to a t 6 .145 dynamic command. gearbox is great for loader work and road work on auto. the exhaust brake was definitely a worthwhile investment . good pulling tractor and good on diesel

That is interesting to hear, we bought a t6.165 back in 2014 and sent it back almost immediately due to the horrendous whine. If I remember correctly we demoed a later t6 after they supposed changed the cut of the gears to reduce the whine but we didn’t notice the difference, hence we waited till the dynamic command came out. Maybe they have finally cured the whine
