Anyone had a water pump seize on a Valtra t174

Why does it always happen in a bank holiday!?
Nephew was putting plough on and heard a clunk and stopped engine, when I looked at it the fan had unscrewed itself and water pump solid! No water leak or anything, just seems a strange thing to happen! At least the radiator etc seems unscathed.

They leave factory with a cheap single bearing pump.
Dealer will fit a twin bearing pump foc.

Valtra dealer told me ther was problems with them but valtra was replacin them as they break

I’ve done the T 190 and 170 but at high hours , haven’t touched the 254 yet.

@Sid had a water pump fail last year and take out a radiator on a valtra and seam to remember it was fairly expensive
