Anyone rearing pheasants??

Can’t be bad I think I’ve been put off by my grandfather hanging them till they fell off the hook

haha - nah, I ate them as soon as I got them
Not keen on that whole idea of maggots coming out of them or hanging for ages with no refrigeration

The breast isn’t to bad but it’s that yellow fat that I don’t like

Love a bit of pheasant in the slow cooker.we also make burgers an sausages out of ours.
Find it best just to skin them , then take the breast out,takes seconds

Thirty years ago My Dad thought he'd rear some pheasants and red legged partridge to just settle on the place,thirty of each. On the day of release,we quietly opened the door of the pheasants and they walked out like a bunch of chickens,looking to us for food. Opened the door if the partridges and they went out at two million miles per hour and we never saw them again. There are some at some ground we have three miles away,the opposite side of the common but whether they are the descendants I don't know
