Anyone running LPG 4x4

Like above anyone running an LPG vehicle on the farm? It does not seem particularly popular. All I can really see are old range rovers, I know they are really the only popular petrol 4x4s out there. Would an American style pick up be worth running?

It’s rarely worth the expenditure. Just by the old petrol thing for 5 peanuts and just suck up the cost and enjoy the experience.

It’s okay if you can cope with usually having a small tank and having to travel miles to a garage that sells LPG: seemingly 90% don’t. Personally I would never go back to LPG because of the hassle: but rather run a diesel which can be bought anywhere for road use or run on red for limited farm use.

My Ford F-150 with the 3.5ltr eco-boost and 10 speed auto returns 23 MPG..........that's per U.S. gallon of course which is quite a bit smaller than the imperial version. 36 gallon tank , so 750,ish out of a tankfull.

There is a lot pick-up for your money seen a three year old one for sale for not dangerous money. Out of my budget but would be good bet for someone. We have quite a few places locally that do gas that's one of the main reasons I was asking. Are you using it mostly for farm work or as family car type thing?

I once ran a Discovery 2 V8 gas conversion.
Loved it but there are a few issues:
Tanks are often too small so the range isn’t brilliant.
It takes 4 times longer to fill the tank that using petrol.

I never see vehicles apart from fork lifts running on LPG, its' cheap enough at around $1 per gallon but mostly used for heating homes/drying grains
Gasoline, diesel for the larger pickups', red farm fuel seems the fuel of choice..!
