Used to go, but don’t think I have been since 2008 at Cannock Chase.

It is a pretty good show if you are into that kind of stuff. Cost me an awful lot of money though.

I thought ‘all things trees’ would be popular with farmers in the rush to net zero

It’s a big event. Usually see the set up and take down when we are spreading on Ragley. Not this year though

Am off later to go for a couple of days, looking foward to it, seems to be the closest thing to a holiday I get. Interesting show, plenty of fencing etc. Right up my street.

I used to go. I had an agenda and work paid for me to stay in a hotel.
I took my bicycle which made life a little easier getting about.
It was a busy time and there were some interesting machines to see and people to talk to.
It got too busy for me though and I’m glad not to have to sit in the traffic queue for two hours plus, even though I had free entry. If you are stuck, you are stuck and that was a waste of my time.

Those were the days. Funnily enough a post I wrote to my family in 2010 has just popped up today. Made me chuckle
How very different my work life was at that time;

Heading to Cannock chase in the morning to the forestry show. Will be looking to buy a portable sawmill if all goes well. The Hotel I'm in has a pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room so looking forward to the evenings. Spent our honeymoon there with a very tiny son and had him swimming aged 18 months. All seems a very long time ago!

Yeah, I thought it was busy enough tbf, might be more a sign of the economic climate than anything, enjoyable couple of days away for me happy days.

That hill they had the fencing comps on looked an absolute killer and dry as anything but probably better than sliding about @tepapa

The hill wasn't too bad but the ground is a funny kind of hard, that took some digging.

Must admit I'm always a bit in awe of the people in the competition arena, it's a hell of a task to get that work done to such a high standard against the clock.

Yes we do but the cutting edge went blunt and then it won't go, so we lost a bit of time until I changed the auger flight.
