Are heaps of chicken muck a breeding ground for flies?

Two long heaps of chicken manure were delivered to a field head land about 60mtrs from our cottage about 6 wks ago. In the last few days we seem to be having a lot of flies in our house so I am wondering if chicken manure is a breeding ground for flies. If so will spraying the heaps with a strong solution of Jeyes fluid , once a week, help prevent the flies breeding?
A bit inconsiderate of the Velcourt farm manager giving permission for it to be tipped that close to our cottage , but as a country person I like to be reasonably tolerant. But flies and rats I hate!!!

Environmental Health should be called as 60m I think is illegal from memory. I’m sure compost piles have rules to stick to when piling and I might be wrong but for some reason I’ve got 200m in the back of my mind from the nearest dwelling.

Wasn't there a person on here wanting to pay to roll in muck !?!

Look at it as a money earner @MX7

The more rolling in it he does, the less the flies will land on it. Win,win, both ways. ?

As for legislation, I believe you can put a temporary muck heap anywhere on your own land, but has to be 25m (?) away from a watercourse. The 400m rule only comes in force for permenant structures that require planning permission.

Not very neighbourly of your neighbours thoiugh. A quiet word with them may be the best way.
