Just had the particulars through for the 3 Staffordshire council holdings that have just came up for tenancy... stock farms, barely fenced, buildings need work, atleast 2 of them have been empty for some time so rather run down...

£225 an acre!!! I nearly fell out of my seat ... it’s a no from me

not drunk at all,

over priced on the market; therefore no interest / applications or tenders that fall well short of their expectations,

que the following scenario:

staffordshire council farms is no longer a viable operation as there is no commercial interest in renting out our farms , we should dispose of the assets and use the money elsewhere

For a 50 acre farm with house and buildings its a bargain

No idiots there then...perhaps try Hert's Bed's & Camb's !
Mind you some of those tendering that sort of money are not the best farmers or business people.

I suggest that half of £225 per acre is more than appropriate.
