We are working with the University of Bristol and the Royal Agricultural University to find ways to incentivise better welfare on pig farms. This Defra funded research will inform the development of future voluntary funding schemes to help support pig producers and improve animal welfare on farm.

We're looking to speak to farmers who:
  • Have free farrowing systems
  • Have temporary crate systems
  • Keep pigs with intact tails
  • Have straw bedded systems
If you are willing to discuss your experience with us and provide access to welfare and performance records, we can pay £100 for your time.

Participants will need to fill out a short online survey about their farming system and welfare enhancements. There will then be a follow-up call with a researcher to discuss the costs and welfare benefits in more detail.

Contact our livestock consultant Jon Walton [email protected] or call Jon on 07467 482253 if you would like to take part.
All data collected will remain strictly confidential and any farms that take part will not be identifiable in the results.

Thank you!
