I was a bit more reserved with my application with only opting for an auto footbath.

I hope Kite are a bit quicker at making a decision than Defra are with their grant scheme.

I’ve the feeling they’ll already know what template of farmers there wanting. Wouldn’t like to know how slim the odd are. Think scotgov are 90 days o_O Easter so be over a month easy with kite

As it was based on animal welfare and the enviroment along with making business's sustainable I've applied for a brand new Land Rover Discovery .
Given that it has independently proven test results showing it to be half the Co2 output than my current discovery and only a tiny proportion of the Nox output the Enviromental benefits cannot be disputed .
At only 7.7 seconds the new model has a far quicker 0-60 time, this combined with a top speed of 130mph will greatly reduce transport times for my cows when in the stock trailer ,what with transport being a stress point for livestock I feel this will easily qualify on the improved animal welfare front .
It terms of cost saving to the business this is the real clincher , I like to price my time in the same as my accountant , so £200/hr , I figure due to increased acceleration ,top speed and less time refuelling I will save 250hrs/yr thus £50k . More over the biggest risk/cost to farms is divorce , as I don't intend on telling my wife I bought the discovery with a grant she will think I'm much wealthier than I really am and thus as there is no such thing as an ugly rich man she will be much less likely to leave me and thereby making my business more sustainable . Reckon I've got this one in the bag (y)

To be fair to the guys at kite by the time they’ve waded through all these applications they be due an Easter break

Are they going too award the ones which have justified most benifit and ticked most boxes, or will it be case of spreading the money around as thinly as possible and giving a little of it too as many farmers as possible? I guess then there may well be several decline if they are only funding say 10% of a significant spend.

I Think it said in the guide they will pay out 50 or 10% of applications whichever is greater.

So I would guess they will pay out 20 organic and 30 conventional.
