An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Herd Manager on a family dairy unit at Farthings Hook Farm, Mid Pembrokeshire.
The successful candidate will be required to work as part of a team managing 400 high yielding cows on a AYR calving system. This is a hands-on roll and duties include milking in a 50 point parlour with ADF, feeding, scraping, bedding and young stock duties. Computer literacy is an advantage for record keeping and monitoring performance.
The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a keen stockman's eye and the enthusiasm to achieve high standards of dairy husbandry is as important as experience.
The salary is dependent on the candidate's experience.
