ATTACHING THIMBLES TO STEEL CABLES

Hi
I need advice on attaching thimbles to a 10mm steel cable using aluminium ferrules. I have searched the web and all the links show very expensive swaging tools either hydraulic or manual. I thought I was being clever in purchasing all the individual pieces, I didn't realise that I need a special tool to put it all together.

PLEASE HELP

Yes you can’t do it without proper swager and any attempt to do it without will not be safe. Shame you’ve already bought the bits. Lifting company near me will make them up as you want and supply with a test cert. probably no dearer than what it cost you to buy the bits

When working at sea one of the tests on a course was to splice a wire rope, PITA, cut fingers and illegal to use anyway, (without certification), but still taught. Takes an hour of so, far easier to use a couple of clamps!

Down this way normally take to Rope & Marine Services Ltd.
Takes them 10 minutes, £35.00 + VAT job done and certificate to cover you.
