Caenby Corner in the early 1980’s there was a Brussel sprout grading machine in very good condition knocked down to Holton Tractors for a fiver as no one knew what it was. A young couple turned up late evidently looking to buy the grader asked who had bought it and were pointed in Hansards direction obviously he wanted a bit to cover his expenses but asking for several thousand for something he had just paid a fiver for seemed a bit greedy.

Bought an old cast iron dog drinking bowl at an auction for about £5. After paying for it, along with the rest of the junk I had bought, the was a hoo haa among the office staff and the auctioneer. Apparently the person selling it had a £45 reserve on it and the auctioneer had knocked it down to me for a fiver. I said they could have it back as I did not want to pay the reserve but the auctioneer told me to keep it and they would carry the loss.
Credit to both of you
