avant mini loader

We have an Avant 520+

20hp Kubota diesel, will lift a round bale of hay, just.
Plenty of lifting power but lifts the rear wheels.

Done 1600 hours, very little bother apart from the odd leaking hose, and the exhaust falling off.
Did headstock pins and bushes last year, mainly from lack of grease....

I can't comment on a mower attachment, but as always, a deck out front is ideal.

Damn good for running the log splitter too.

How much are they roughly? I saw a few out in Estonia on a trip some years ago and they looked a cracking machine..

You will need to be sat down with a stiff drink to hand when they tell you the price!!
Multione - their competitor have just relaunched again with a new Importer /Dealer I think - no used ones in the UK of either make - if there are any - they will be few and far between and in strong demand by the landscape industry plus a few ag applications.

You can do most things with an Avant, I'm on my second one, it works everyday. With a lot of adapted machines

Im liking the ability to jump on and off easily whilst mucking out chicken sheds, we do the main parts of shed with merlo just edges corners and post with bobcat.
Also the mower on a boom lift would be great for blade maintenance, deck cleaning etc, height adjustable for rougher mowing too. 2 minute conversion from mowing to mucking out duties, other tasks would be sweeping sheds with sweepex broom.

but yes they are pricey, then again so is running a bobcat and a decent lawn tractor. I dare say avant would hold its value quite well

roll bar could be an issue mowing around apple trees , even in some sheds getting under the winched up drinking systems

The cabs on the wrong end of the pivot, great for forward visibility but you always have to look where the rear is going.

You sit at the rear on the new ones. We had a new 528 on demo, plenty of power, could lift silage bales, but would've needed rear weights (they can be bought from Avant). A bit expensive and the cows were afraid of it, but a great all arounder. There's also Norcar, which is also made in finland, i like it even better than Avant. Get a Avant coupler on it and enjoy, it's also cheaper.

This one's a beast, costs ~60k€ though. :cautious:

getting to heavy to be a mower now:scratchhead: ideas right but in practice not so good.

My bobcat never goes off hardstanding and garden tractor is hopeless off the lawn, both work fine for me, but a dual purpose thing seems to be worth considering.

I was able to lift a 600 Kg bag of fertiliser with my 528+ , and the 635 I have now lifts 750 Kg. Among the other jobs the Avant handles 1000 + round bales of Hay & haylage. I had a Bob cat before the 528, and there is no comparison, If you wanted to work out of the skid steer with the bucket at waist height for shovelling, you either had to go over the top, or under it. I never really liked it, but horses for courses.

@Finn farmer : I like the look of the Norcar (a7236). Is an Avant coupler available as an off-the-shelf item? Does it replace the Norcar coupler, or is it an add-on adapter? Obviously Avant have a much bigger range of attachments, but is their coupler a better design?

Thanks
