So I decided to perhaps check the air filter this morning, 'n ye know whut!

HER, the wonderful reliable unbreakable old girl, do really be unbreakable after all.

After I temporiarily replaced the somewhat clogged air filter with a cut down set of WD 40 soaked tights(of the wifes!), and no sniggering at the back please.(& a proper filter is on order btw)

I could genuinely believe how bad it was, for a tractor that never bes near arable ground or a hay field.

Eh? Are you being serious with your posts about your tractor.

Let no bugger bash David Brown's if this is the way they are treated!

very fixable, should you wish.

Im not sure, but think you could get away with running it without a turbo, by putting a different manifold on.

Depending on where you are, and what the rest of the condition of the tractor is, I would have an interest in buying it...

Is it possible take propeller out of turbo and blank of oil pipe and still use existing manifold and redirect air pipe ?

Turbo on my 1490 leaking oil into exhaust and toying with idea of taking prop out ,have heard of it but until I see one nodded keep it going .only lose bout 10 HP

That's ok till it goes bang and the inlet valves and pistons eat the turbo parts.....

Can you get a cartridge (center bit) for the turbo on E-Bay not to dear?

I will just go with my usual suggestion, which is to weigh it in for recycling into a maritime parking aid

Put the cash towards a blue one........

Might be hard to blank between air and exhaust, best to leave it there and take the turbine off.

I would fix it asap. With turbo removed i would guess it would be gutless and grossly over fuelled.

Well I might be wrong, but better to find out for sure than carrying on till it breaks. Always cheaper to catch things early I've found.
