Baling behind mower

Have been mowing grass with 9ft mo conditioner and will bale it next day or so. Just wondering is there many out there that do this now or is everybody spreading it then raking it up in front of baler?

We have a grouper mower and put two lines into one, side by side hopefully, leave it a day or two then pick it up.
Too many stones here to play with it.

In my experience you make far better consistent silage moving it. You also get more output out of your baler as otherwise you would have to drive twice as quick up each mower row.
For simplicity though behind the mower works fine.

On the odd occasion that I have picked up straight behind our neighbour's moco I have struggled. It leaves grass on the ground, and you have no room to weave a bit to get a good shaped bale. And it is sooo slow.

Picked up 10's of thousands of acres of baling behind mower conditioners and hayblobs and now live with almost constant chronic back pain as use to regularly Bale at up to 20mph:facepalm:.

Raking these days is a must even tho most tractor's have full suspension and my McHale's just don't pickup as cleanly as previous makes on single mower swaths and baler's are alot wider so the next swaths get squat
