My son bought it a week ago and it is very good, apart from recommending burning. It confirms the two Simons theory from scientific research and advises coating seed in chalk. Also confirms what Frederick is saying about early and additional N when converting to No Till.

The book was written in the early eighties, but most of it is still relevant. It costs 1 p, but £2.80 postage.

Listened to him speak. Interesting in fairness. He looks like kinsey brother!

I like his book and found his style pragmatic. But equally when you go on the website and see the products he sells they are still just amalgamations of what we can get off the shelf as it were:

AS; Koch Urea; pelleted lime; fibrophos and then some stuff based on humics and fulvics (the jury is out for me on the latter two as I think I can make them myself in the soil)

The people I have personally got most out of reading etc. which for keeps a degree of groundedness have been Doug Edmeades (but he is very traditional on his fert comments "classically educated" I suppose you call it but importantly very well educated on it), Carlos Crovetto (a demo of a good long term no till system with the soil changes measured but very practical) and Paul Syltie (explains the soil actions/ interactions very well with a bit of religion thrown in for some reason!) and Kris Nichols - she has a couple of very good webinars.
