Basc or Nfu discounts on vehicles

Has anyone used 1 or both of the above to get a discount on a new pickup. And which one works out cheaper

I've used the NFU discount a few times. Make sure you get a quote BEFORE you tell them you have a discount voucher if you can but they will usually ask about this whilst working out your quote. Basically I'm not sure you get much off with the discount as they only have so much to play with anyway..

Dealer discount was 9.5% nfu a further 15% so 24.5% in total.

more recently i had a Ford dealer tell me he could blow nfu discount out of the water on a new ford Kuga. He was over 2k out on that one

But the discounts are supposed to be after their best price I thought?

There are not many situations where I would take a salesmans word for that. Usually when they say that they dont even know how it works.

I don't want to sound cynical, but what made you think that the salesman was being entirely truthful?

When we did it I phoned the Scottish NFU
about it and they said the discount was from the manufacturer and not the dealer. It probably can't be used in conjunction with other dealer manufacturer discounts though(just my opinion). The dealer should still have a bit to play with.

Got a text from NFU Scotland last week to say Evans Halshaw in Coatbridge only were offering an additional 10% discount over standard NFUS discount. Would think most of them could do this if pushed though.
Nissan dealers are offering big discounts on new navaras at the moment so would be surprised if NFU discount was any better than you could haggle with them yourself.
