Base for drinking trough

I have just had water layed on to the field and was wondering how thick I need to make the base.
My initial idea is to make a former slightly larger than the trough and 150mm deep the fill with concrete

I would make it big enough for multiple cattle to stand on whilst drinking.
Will significantly decrease foul and foot problems
