Basic payments

Hi,

So I'm new to all this but looking at seeing if i can make a claim this year. I bought a small holding a couple of years ago, i've completed the RLE1 form and got my land mapped out - its just over 6ha.

Its showing no entitlements - do i need to buy these to make a claim? Or i think i've seen somewhere i can put in a request from the national reserve as I'm a new young farmer? (35).

I've started the application online but not hit submit yet, and a couple of the agencies / surveyors i've spoken to want ridiculous amounts of money for not a very large payback on my point with such a small acreage.

Thanks

You need to fill in the 'young farmer' form. I can't recall the exact details, but you get (i) the possibility of being given entitlements they have spare to cover your land area (up to a certain size, but you're well within it); and up to an extra 25% subsidy over what everyone else gets per hectare. It's all set out in the Government guidance somewhere.
