Standards setting and training organisation BASIS has appointed Cliff Godwin as the new independent Chair of the Auditing and Compliance Committee.

Cliff begins his new role this autumn, having recently retired as commercial development manager at Hutchinson’s, following 44 years of service in the agricultural industry.

“Having been a BASIS member since the organisation was created, I’m delighted to be joining the team as Chair of the Auditing and Compliance Committee,” says Cliff.

“I’m excited to bring my experience in operations to the role and I’m looking forward to being able to keep my finger on the pulse within the industry.”

Commenting on the new appointment, BASIS CEO, Stephen Jacob, explains that Cliff’s industry insight will be invaluable to the Committee, which is responsible for ensuring that assessment standards are attained for UK Professional Plant Protection (PPP) product stores to meet the requirements of both the law and the industry.

“Cliff has worked across the agricultural sector and has extensive practical and managerial experience to lead the Auditing and Compliance Committee over the coming years. We’re excited to welcome him to the BASIS team,” says Stephen.
