Is the battery acid in 12V tractor batteries always clear in colour?
l ask because on checking the levels, 2 of the cells contain a black solution.
It is a 4 year old Exide and wouldnt be the best at holding a charge.
l have taken it to a motor factor where they put a tester on it and it says its a healthy battery.
l would've thought the solution should always be clear and the battery is maybe breaking up inside.
Voltmeter reads 12.8 at rest and 14 when tractor is running so its charging ok just not holding a charge.
Tractor starts in a nanosecond off jump leads so no issue there.
