The problem of course is that the majority of people do not have the time, desire or dare I say intelligence to read between the lines. Also the rise of the internet has allowed a whole host of alternative media outlets to emerge that suit all political persuasions. This is turn has allowed people to full into ideological bubbles and for politics to become ever more polarized. It will not stop until some authority takes control of the information people are exposed to. Personally I simply could not except that such a situations.

Very good post there, although I m a bit wary of 'the authority taking control' part.
Still Fox would probably have to shut down if news outlets were told to only report fact and thruth, which would be a good thing

Fox News is a lot more factual than other networks over there, yes they are right leaning but what I have seen when they debate about something there is usually one guest from each political side which dosnt happen on cnn or other left leaning organisation, all there guests are from the left no matter what they are talking about

I am weary of that to. Nobody really controls the internet (which is why it is so great) and the powers that be know that and the don't like it. So it would only natural for them at some point to try and take control.

But that is why it so great for fake news ,phorno's ,phedo's, ISIS and the odd Nigerian prince. There will ultimately have to be some level of global monitoring and regulation if it is to remain a fairly safe way for us to carry-on communicating and doing business. If it doesn't happen I suspect the internet will ultimately become a no go area for the average user.

I am not disputing bias and partisanship can be found every where, however Fox news and many of his presenters and commentators, not all of them mind Shep Smith seams to be one of the few with some journalistic conscience and neutrality (video below) , have been found to mislead, lie , misquote, insinuate and fabricate stories, create and push specific narratives based on false data, character assassinations on a very regular basis, even when confronted with facts and real data . O' Reilly and Hannity are the biggest offenders as the videos below show, who really went all out on Pres Obama.
Fox i think has the largest number of viewers I, its influence on people cannot be underestimated, the problem here is at what point it stops being news and starts being propaganda? I am all for being critical, but I don t see many people here up in arms on all the lies Fox or berbait and the like have pushed for the last years against the previous administrations, or on anyone they did not like. And now the new administration is acting out all principled and self-righteous, accusing news outlets of not telling the truth and being biased? When its all campaign was based on lies and the use of biased media ? No man, that is so hypocritical from them. what were the lies anyway?

I like Sean hannety but iam under no illusion where he stands on his political believes, the problem I have with the other networks are that they try to make out they are something they are not

His speech was pretty good last night. Looks like his speech writers have been allowed to do there stuff at last, even if he was a bit wooden delivering it, but it was presidential.
