Beacon not working......

Beacon wont work. I replaced the the old one which didn't work as it was done rusted etc etc. New LED one fitted but wouldn't illuminate. It is the plug in fitting DIN is it. Anyway if I clip a wire from centre of the female side(attached to the cab) and wire it to the centre pin, then earth the other pin on the light illuminates! However when it plug the fitting together it doesn't work. The wire comes out from under the roof could it be a broken wire on the earth side? Any thoughts please...

It works on the other machine so don't think so.

Bad contact seems the simple answer. Get a small wirebrush in there.

I will try and see what I can do there's not much room internally previously had used contact cleaner, WD40 as well but no success I don't want to break the small metal clips inside. But as always the simple things are best checked first.

Switch faulty maybe

Switch is fine it works with a standard bulb on and off etc but that's with bulb earthed to the bodywork was hoping its not a broken earth wire as then I would need to remove cab roof

Could be the insert on the din socket. My 620 did that but I never bothered sorting it

I’m getting power to the centre pins ok I will get another look at some stage

Are you wearing sun shades and a phone to your ear ,that may be the problem if you're not

If it's a din socket you probably need to close the pins inside the socket looks like 2 male spade connectors ,make sure switch is off and use small screwdriver and close pins slightly together .

Morning all. Thought I would ask a few more questions about the 620 firstly I have noticed that occasionally when idling its not even mostly it is but every now and again it doesn't but its like half a second then normal again, its not a regular thing either. As for power doesn't seem to be an issue was flailing with an 8ft, starts ok even after sitting for two weeks. The second question is whats the small button on the front of the gear lever for?? I never noticed it before! I don't have a manual either.

The small button is a clutch button so you don't need to push the clutch pedal
