Took the decision because of the lateness not to drill the beans this spring (good decision in hindsight) but with 8 ton of cleaned HSS siting in the shed will try again next spring.
Spring barley - drilled 4th May, 2.5t/acre and lots of straw. Chuffed and relieved!Yes with hindsight a very good decision. Did you sow anything else instead?
All the talk about cookoo barley drilled late is rot. Average over 150 acre 67.5 kg/ha and 1.89NThat did well

Winters very poor here but expect to have a few more next year because of field sizes. Was wondering if many people are going to be reducing there been acerages this year on the back of this year's disappointing crops.
Also what break crop they are looking to replace it with or if continious wheat is a better option for some of you
Winters = Kerb and CrawlerHow are winters better than springs for blackgrass control?
