Bean auger

Has anyone had trouble augering beans? I've handled tic beans ok but field beans are larger and the auger jambs even when moving only a very few beans. It is a standard 4" grain auger about 12' long at an angle of aout 30degrees.

Flights are likely worn and the beans are jamming against the tube,, we used to put them through a mobile dryer and the feed auger ran much steeper but didn't have any problem not running

beans can be an absolute bugger they get stuck between the flight and the tube the only hope if augering is the flights are worn so the beans dont get stuck or the auger is new then the beans wont fit between the flight and the tube

My 12 ft auger was the same on the feed mill, tried all sorts, including a new flight before I learnt you could get a bean flight, never been a problem since, but the barley is much slower up the auger now, not a problem for us as it’s just on the feed mill.
