Bean weevil- to spray or not to spray?

Has anyone been brave enough not to spray Spring beans when they are being notched by weevils?
I know insecticides are cheap but they are so indiscriminate. I have not used a foliar insecticide since spraying for p&b weevil a year ago and would like to avoid them altogether.
Can beans withstand a weevil attack?

even if you spray they will still be nibbling away. I've not sprayed yet this year but they are only just out of the ground really, the weevil seem less active than other years here so far.

Just finished mine, I have some notching, they do reduce plant vigor and with the crop growing slowly due to the cold conditions, no wind, a bad forecast for the week and the sprayer was clean I took the opportunity to do them. Added some manganese too.
T1s to do this week, some fields need a little herbicide so happy beans now off the list.

Did my 70 acres this afternoon, 90% of plants notched and as @RTK Farmer says we don't need anything else hindering the plants growing in this cold weather. T1's tomorrow morning hopefully!
