Someone's stolen three old cow chains that we use to fasten field gates, leaving the gates swinging open. Why would you bother doing that ?
It's a common tactic for trespass grazing of horses, they nick the locks open the gates, then come back a few days later and their horses have wandered in as it wasn't locked, then you have 3 months of fun getting them off, and just before you take them to court often the day of the hearing, they move on, not before they have had 3 months free grazing.......on a field around me their still on a field, a local farmer used to rent to put his cattle out on. They even threatened him for trying to remove gates he had fitted when he used the field. Like the poster says get some locks on quick....... they will move on and find a softer target.

OUT OF CONTROL?

Where did you gain that nugget of information from Roger? Fox News?
And you think it isn't out of control? There isn't a farm or house up my road that hasn't had some sort of robbery or theft in the last 5 years & NONE of the perpetrators have been caught. In one case police refused to act on CCTV evidence that showed the bloke getting out of his white van (Guess who?) & levering up the corner of a garage door, before disappearing behind the house & returning with a TV (twice). When they turned up (2 days later naturally) - famer was told if he didn't have CCTV warning signs they couldn't do anything.

If that isn't crime "out of control", then I don't know what is?
