Bed & breakfast

I always said that B and B for me would be a last resort and it still would be.
Lack of privacy in house for the odd time we are in the bloody thing would ruin it for me.
Despite having more than enough room and a very nice place I am the same.
Others of course would love the company, each to their own.

I was out and about early yesterday morning with the missus, when the rest of humanity started to be out and about I said it's about time we got ourselves back off home and stayed there.
She agreed.

Just wondered if anyone ran a bed & breakfast? Any tips on getting started? What are the pitfalls?
Been brought up with b&b all my life and I think you need to be unless you genuinely enjoy meeting and greeting people everyday. I don't and will go the long way round to avoid them but you have just think about the money sometimes. Always had to put your ear to the bedroom door so you could make a quick dart across the landing. It's been a really good earner over the years but I think now peoples expectation are higher, they won't except that the reason there's no water in the tap is because we have just finished milking and the cows are drinking. Also Mr premier Inn and Co. have took a lot of business. Mum still ticks over with the guests but it's more 1 or 2 nighters rather than weekly holidays although she still has people that have come every year for 30+ years.
