the floor on our Teagle 8080 won't reverse, in fact pressing the reverse button (electronic controls) makes it go forwards:( Its not blocked with straw or muck so I reckon the fault must be electrical or hydraulic, question is which? and how to fix it? any suggestions much appreciated

If she goes forward I'd say it must be electrical??

But our Lucas did the same, but only would move an inch forward and stop, but no reverse. Motor was knackered in the end. €1200 quid to replace!!

I hope in your case it's just a crossed wire?

You could plump the hyd into pump direct, thus would rule out any elect issues. You might have to buy some fittings, but cheap quick process of elimination and handy if it goes tits up.

I would say the 1st place to look is the solenoid on the spool block, you need a test light or multimeter really.

Treemovers idea of connecting direct is right but it may just be a faulty switch, maybe swap wires with another switch, always handy to take a photo with your phone so you know how it was when you started.:)

when we had a bedder, the guy said best way to check if the solenoids where working was to have the tractor switched off, but the electric plugged in and turned on, and then go through all the switches listening to the solenoids moving, and if it doesn't , then its needs changing.

I wouldn't be surprised if was a restriction in the return oil flow causing back pressure to the motor. Check the tit on the return coupling if that is how it is plumbed. On a Lucas the stop start of the floor will wear one out in a year at least and cause all sorts of strange issues.

on ours, the restriction caused the whole lot to not work, no floor, no shute, no back door , untill we got it plumped straight in to the backend, was ok then

We had same problem on our kv bedding machine. The floor chain spool valve on ours would not reverse but on the bottom of the valve is a 10mm stud which if you turn will move valve manually forward and backwards we found this freed the valve.

Usually the problem, get a new one for when it does it again. It's hard to tell the difference but the tit will be worn.

I've seen no end of weird problems like this that has turned out to be down to worn couplers, the nipples start to act as check valves, its also worth unscrewing them out the adapter and looking up the end as well. I've seen them come loose inside.
